Solid Turds

She barely fits on my lap anymore. Compare this photo to one taken on February 5th

I know that's a seriously gross subject for a post, but that's what our day was all about: solid little turds, three of them, and a great deal of relief. Dusty is already acting like her old, obnoxious self. She was all over the yard today, trying to find dead things to put in her mouth (which is how we got into whole mess to begin with, but anyways...)

The Leafs game had a detrimental effect on attendance tonight at puppy class. Only six dogs showed up and Joy seemed very glad to see us. We worked on 'downs' and whistle recall.

Dusty's 'downs' are already pretty good, but we practised and I found her to be more distracted than ususal. To be honest, I hadn't expected too much of her since she's been sick and we haven't been working very much lateley.

I had trouble seeing the point of the whistle recall, since the idea is supposed to be that you fade the whistle out until you're just doing the voice recall again (?!). She seemed to use the whistle like a clicker, even charging the whistle before she started the exercise with one of the dogs. Maybe I'm confused.

Anyways, playtime was the best part and we even stayed late for some extra playtime. I can't believe that this class is nearly over. We only have two more sessions and we're finished!
