Desk time

The puppy in her favourite spot for websurfing - my lap.

1:30 p.m.
I'm typing this with one hand because the dog is sleeping on my left arm. This doesn't prevent me from surfing, but it does make typing difficult. She loves sleeping on my lap as I work on the computer. If she's not in my lap then she's in the dog bad right next to my desk. Proximity is important.

Dusty is in a deep sleep. She's having rapid eye movement.

How do I know this? Her head is pressed against my hand and I can feel her little eye ball shudder and twitch.

8:00 p.m.
Is there anything worse than taking a puppy out in -30 windchills?

Why, yes there is! Taking a puppy out in an ice storm is far worse. First of all, the puppy gets wet (and schnauzers generally hate getting wet), plus it's cold AND there's a thin coat of ice on every surface, including the sidewalk. Yuck.

(the person taking the dog out gets wet too - I generally don't like getting wet very much either!)
