The itch.
8:00 p.m.
It was yet another day full of activities that have no meaning or interest to a dog. The highlight of her day was an hour at the Small Dog Park in the evening - she played hard and is now fast asleep.
Here are some of the non-highlights: There was some time spent in a sit-stay at the coinwash, crate time, even more crate time and a long interval spent at the front door waiting for that human to come back (usually the human was just outside in the hall).
The human was doing laundry, grocery shopping, suffering through a torturous yet necessary hour at the mall (ARGH!!!!) and then doing some monthly maintenance chores around the house.
For Dusty, this wasn't terribly interesting, though she did perk up when I tried out my new toaster (my old one is now retired. I originally got it second hand from my mom when I went to university - it's at least 20 years old. She's probably reading this and saying "You still have that old thing?" since she was going to throw it out when I took it). New bath towels for me means that Dusty can use my old ones - I'm sure she's just thrilled.
All of this work is in preparation for the move, which is now less than a month away. Hooray!
