Happy Dance

Hey! Stop looking at my bum!
Excuse me...do you not speak doggish? I said...
This is *soooo* annoying!
Aw Mom! Cut it out with the camera!

10:30 p.m.
This morning, I woke up bright and early and this is the song I was singing as I did my little happy dance on the front lawn (sung to the tune of 'The Farmer in the Dell'):

"She's sleeping through the night! She's sleeping through the night! Hi ho the Bladder-o, she's sleeping through the night!"

Not very original, I'll admit, but I'm not at my best at 5:30 a.m. Yes, it sounds like a cruel hour, but it's a far cry from getting up at 3:00 a.m. every night to empty the puppy.

I'm not quite sure how we arrived at this point, but I've been getting up early to go to my course, and I think we just negotiated a compromise: I'll get up freaking early in the morning if I can just get 8 hours of continuous sleep. Works for me! Apparently works for the pup!

Other tidbits from the Land of Puppy:

And finally, a quirky little anecdote for you. Dusty is very good about letting me know when she needs to go outside. Last week, I was completely absorbed in supper preparations (I've been on a soup kick lately) when I noticed that the pup was patiently waiting by the door.

I turned down the heat on the stove and prepared for the inevitable trip outside. I must not have been speedy enough because when I next turned around (don't worry, this story has a *happy* ending), she was standing by the door again - this time, patiently queued up behind one of her toys.

"Awwww! That's cute" I thought to myself, and took her out. I figured it was probably a fluke.

Today, I was once again busy - this time at the computer. I noticed that the pup was nowhere in sight, so I walked into the kitchen to see what she was up to. She was there by the door, patiently waiting in a line-up of *two* of her toys. To her great relief, I let her jump the queue and took her outside.

You have to give her credit for originality!
