Changes

Dusty contemplates her incredible growth spurt.

8:00 p.m.
I made an appointment today for Dusty to get her final set of puppy shots - she's going in on March 10th. I also made an appointment for her first visit to the groomer. Now, whenever I look at her, all I can think about is her soft, black puppy fur and how it will be all gone in a little over a week. If it's still cold, she'll definitely need to start wearing her sweater again, but I'm hoping it will warm up.

I can't believe how quickly she's growing! I took her to the dog park tonight and even the dog park people were noticing that she's bigger. She gets really frustrated at the dogpark these days because I have to hold her and she doesn't want to be held. She wants to get down and play with those other dogs! It's definitely time, I think. I'm really excited about her debut into dog park society!

In training this week, we've been working more on the leash. I want her to be comfortable walking on a loose leash inside before we take it outdoors. I've also been spending a lot of time on 'come' and 'stay.'

Dusty learned a new trick today: 'Give me a high five!' She does and it's absolutely hilarious!. That's going to be a fun one for when we start puppy kindergarten.

She starts kindergarten on the 19th. My pup is growing up!
