Puppy isn't feeling well...
1:00 p.m.
I went out last night and when I returned, I found Dusty laying on her dog bed inside the crate - she had fussed with the dog bed again and turned it upside down. When I let her out, I realised that she had been trying to find a way to lay down without laying in her own vomit. And there was a LOT of vomit. Holy smoke!
I took her outside and she squatted and squatted and squatted and cried while she went poo, except it wasn't poo - it was diarrhea. So I took her back inside (it was 1:00 a.m.) and cleaned up the crate and the bedding, then I cleaned up Dusty in the sink. She was crying and shaking and when I flipped her upside down to rub her belly, I noticed that her spay incision was red and swollen. I could feel a lump that wasn't as pronounced before.
About a month ago, I took her into the vet for more or less the same reason, but since then the two lumps on her belly have shrunk to almost nothing. So this was very disturbing.
She was very clingy and upset as we went to sleep, but she seemed a bit better this morning. I noticed that her right eye is discharging goop. I'm going to try withholding food for the day (to control the diarrhea) and make sure she gets plenty of rest and water. If she's not feeling better by tonight, I'll plan to take her into the vet early tomorrow morning.
