Pretty Puppy!
10:00 p.m.
Ohhhh. It was a hard day. Dusty was being difficult as only an adolescent dog can be (ignoring my requests, pulling on the leash, being hopelessly stubborn and doing all of those little 'dog things' that drive me so crazy, like eating cigarette butts...). And I was in a bad mood - it had nothing to do with the dog - in fact, it had nothing to do with anything, I was just needlessly cranky.
We really, really tried to have a good day, though and mostly succeeded. In the morning, we headed out to High Park and it was so beautiful that Dusty forgot to be angsty and I forgot to be cranky and we actually had a really nice time.
Then we came home and took a nap, which also helped in the mood department (I've been inexplicably tired this week, makes me wonder if I'm coming down with something).
We headed out to the small Dog Park in the evening and met up with some friends, including the little baby schnauzer. Dusty demonstrated her newly acquired bad manners by jumping on the poor little puppy and scaring her half to death. I made up for it by introducing her to a clicker and teaching her to lay 'down.' This qualified me as an official 'cookie lady' and for the next little while, the pup toddled up to me periodically to see if I had any food for her.
You know, this is the kind of day when you just need to go home, eat comfort food and spend hours watching 'Law and Order' and that's exactly what we did!
