Puppy with a 'zipper'
9:00 p.m.
Today was a day of rest for my puppy. She slept a lot in the morning, much of the time in her crate. She ate a good breakfast and lunch and finally had a bowel movement in the early afternoon (to my great relief).
At this point, she was feeling much better - frisky, even - so I took her for a walk. By the time we circled around the block, she was exhausted and barely made it to the house on her own power.
There was some more power napping in the afternoon, then she found her second wind around supper time. She actually wanted to play! She enjoyed her evening walk and got vegetables along with her kibble at suppertime, as a treat.
We played on the floor for awhile, then she started to fade. As I was sitting at the kitchen table writing, she begged to come up on my lap. Then, instead of going to sleep, she sat in my lap and looked up at me with sad eyes, whimpering. I think she was tired and in a bit of pain again.
I just put her to bed - in my bed - a few minutes ago. Right now, she's cuddled under her own blanket, with her snout firmly pressed into my pillow. She's fast asleep.
