Spay

Not feeling very well at all.

10:00 p.m.
Dusty's spay was today - I took her into the Vet's office at 8 in the morning (ouch!). She was spayed in the morning hours and the vet phoned me around noon to let me know that all had gone smoothly.

In addition to the spay, Dusty had three baby teeth pulled. One canine tooth came out on its own on April 16th (my birthday present from puppy! *grin*), but the others had remained. They weren't even loose, so the vet took them out so we wouldn't have to do it later on.

As a result, the spay was more expensive than I had anticipated. I picked Dusty up around 6:00. She walked into the waiting area on her own four legs, greeted me enthusiastically, then promptly peed on the floor over by the front door. As I was busy cleaning this up, she decided to poo on the welcome mat. I figured by this point we were probably wearing out our welcome, so we left.

A friend drove us home so the puppy wouldn't have to be jostled on public transit during rush hour (as it was, she was jostled by his insane driving). She slept on the way home and was still sleepy in the evening. I gave her an antibiotic pill and put her to bed.

She is obviously in pain. She whimpers in this sad little voice and shakes. I'll be glad when she starts healing up and this whole thing is over!
