10:00 a.m.
I noticed Dusty pawing at her mouth this morning and calmed her down so I could have a look. She had a loose tooth! I let her chomp at it for awhile then finally reached in and plucked it out.
She's already lost all her baby teeth in the front, top and bottom (I found one of those too!). This latest was one of her back teeth. The puppy school teacher says that she still has her baby canines, but they'll come last.
9:00 p.m.
We didn't go to High Park today, but we went to the neighbourhood dog park a few times. Dusty got *muddy*. I was cleaning her feet after each excursion. We even sat out on the front stoop for awhile.
While we were out there, Dusty tenatively started to pant (dogs don't sweat, so they cool themselves by panting). At first, she was an awkward panter, not quite sure how to co-ordinate the breath and the exact angle of the tongue hanging out of the mouth. And she kept stopping with a puzzled look on her face, as if to say: "Why am I doing this?"
But instinct finally won and she was soon panting like an expert. Yes, I think spring is finally here! ;-)
(on a more human-related note, the ice cream truck made its first visit to the neighbourhood yesterday afternoon at 4:10. Take note!)
We didn't go to High Park today, to avoid what I imagine must be an incredible quagmire, on Dog Hill and out on the trails, but maybe tomorrow.
