Staying indoors

Playtime and the Aftermath

6:00 p.m.
Staying indoors has become the overiding theme in our lives. Going outside is just a pain in the ass.

Imagine this: our front yard slopes down from the house to the side walk. This slope is very subtle, so you'd never notice it - unless, of course, the entire yard was a big ice sheet.

Today, while Dusty enthusiastically pulled me around the yard, I struggled to keep my footing. Twice, my feet went out from under me and I crashed to the ground (and didn't even make a *dent* in the damned snow - sheesh!).

Picking up dog poo is not dignified under the best of circumstances, but imagine doing it on hands-and-knees because walking down a slight incline would be too dangerous.

My neighbours must think I'm mad.
