Playdate

Chinook wants to play. Dusty wants to run away
from Chinook. Repeat as necessary.

9:00 p.m.
We had a really busy day! In the morning, we sat out in the park again - until the weather turned bad, anyways (currently, a quasi-ice storm is raging). In the afternoon, we took the subway over to Chinook's house for a playdate.

As always, Chinook was glad to see Dusty and Dusty was glad to see Chinook's toys (particularly the toy hedgehog). She would find a toy and then run away and hide from Chinook. Poor Chinook! He wanted to play, but Dusty just didn't get it. She cowered a lot. Wimpy pup! She was brave enough to chase after the cats though.

The whole adventure was exhausting for Dusty and she collapsed into a deep sleep after she finished supper. At the moment, she's curled up on my pillow (E's house is the Land of Big Fluffy Pillows and now Dusty is thoroughly spoiled). I doubt she'll play very much tonight.

Lately, I've been trying to give Dusty a bit more freedom around the apartment. Yesterday, I left her out of the crate while I was taking my shower in the morning. She did really well although she seemed a bit confused by it all - sat in the kitchen with a bewildered look on her face. I left her out again this morning and she played with her toys, but didn't get into any trouble.

My friend E took this photo of Dusty on the big pillow.
She loved that pillow - I'm going to buy her one.
