A Relaxing Day!

Finally! A visit to High Park!

7:30 p.m.
Dusty was a very happy dog today - all of our activities fell into the category "Good Stuff for Dogs."

In the morning, we went to our agility class - the last session, in fact. For our graduation, we ran a small course with all the equipment - no stops in between (previously we had only worked on chains of two or three pieces of equipment).

Dusty did great! I couldn't believe how quickly and confidently she negotiated the obstacles. She handled it like a pro! When we started the class, she was afraid of the tunnels and I couldn't imagine her going over an A-Frame (let alone a teeter totter or dog walk), but there she was, zipping through these things enthusiastically!

On our way home, I found out that they didn't need me at work, so I went home. Dusty and I went to High Park and spent a lovely hour walking in the woods. Dusty chased chipmunks and had a grand old time. High Park has once again transformed: it now looks and smells different, a dry yet fragrant late summer feeling in the air.

But our fun wasn't over yet. I took a blanket out on the front lawn and we lazed around in the sunshine, reading and chewing for over an hour. I've been so busy with my cleaning project that I haven't had a lot of time left over to spend with the puppy, so today was an especially special treat for her. And for me - all of this fun has left me exhausted!
