Thanks Grandma! It's a neat toy!
6:00 p.m.
Great day, lots of walks. The walks seem to be becoming a theme - Dusty sure enjoys them and I'm just loving this weather! She's doing really well on her walks too, loose leash about 90% of the time, sitting when I ask her too (unless there's a squirrel in the vicinity). She's stopped trying to chase bicycles too.
With all of our walking, we've also been working on our 'street skills.' I've taught Dusty a new command: 'cross.' Cross is only used when crossing the street and it's different from 'heel.' When I ask her to cross, she has to stay very close to my left side, not deviating at all in either direction and I encourage her to keep an eye on me. So far, so good. We get a lot of attention from motorists as we wait patiently on the sidewalk, the pup sitting pretty.
Tonight, we start Puppy Kindergarten. I'm not sure how many new things Dusty will learn in this class, but training around other dogs is always a good thing and I'm sure I'll get some good training tips. The course last for six weeks.
