Raining and Whelping

Peek a boo!
Dusty catches some Z's on my lap, while I work on the computer.

10:00 p.m.
We had a quiet day today, since it was raining. Dusty has been sleeping a lot - she must be going through a growth spurt (as if two centimetres per week ísn't a 'spurt' ).

Rain is a fairly new experience for Dusty, though she's seen it before (in the form of sleet and wet snow). She didn't like it much. In fact, when I took her out, she actually ran back inside and refused to go back out.

Once we walked back downstairs, she forgot about the rain and remembered that she needed to go out - she was back at the door whining within five minutes. *This* time, I made sure she stayed out to do her business and she did, though she shook water off of her fur every few minutes or so.

I ran into the Cookie Lady during my morning jog. Her dog, Hilary, whelped 7 puppies last week (which explains why we haven't been seeing much of the Cookie Lady - she's been busy!). The mom and pups are all fine. I can't wait to see them.

As we said good-bye, I told the Cookie Lady: "Congratulations, Grandma!"

She answered: "Acutally, it's 'Grandbitch'! "

I laughed all the way home!
