:: THE DOG DAYS OF WINTER ::

Dr. Dusty

Somehow, every toy seems to end up on that balcony!

8:30 p.m.
Another day filled with lots of homework and a bit of excitement. While running an errand this morning (alone; Dusty was at home), I wiped out on my rollerblades and bloodied up my knee. I managed to get through my errands and blade home, thanks to a nice lady who offered to get me some paper towel and a few bandaids.

When I got back, Dusty was immediately very interested in my wound. Curious about what she would do, I let her examine it. She sniffed it with great care and concentration for a minute or so, then she looked into my eyes as if to make sure I was really okay. Then - very, very gently - she started licking my knee. It was really sweet.

Once again, we went to Small Dog Park for two hours (I wowed everyone with my wound!). I felt a bit lazy, laying around the park for so long, but as one of our friends pointed out, this gorgeous weather won't last. And she wasn't just referring to the coming winter - it's probably going to be yucky for several days when the remnants of Hurricane Isabel hit our area.

It was a perfect day - 25C, sunny and flawless blue skies. It's hard to even imagine rain on a day like this.
