The Big Standoff
10:30 p.m.
Dusty had a great time opening up her presents this morning. From me, she received a 'schnauzer' stuffed toy. I hunted high and low for a stuffed toy that looked like a schnauzer and this funny-looking little guy was the closest thing I could find. He's accurate right down to the stubby little tail, so I just couldn't figure out why he didn't look quite right. I finally puzzled it through: it's the eyebrows. He doesn't have eyebrows.

Anyways, he was 'real' enough to convince Dusty, who spent a few minutes trading stares with the new toy before she would consider playing with him.
She also received a wonderful chew toy from Helena and Kyra. She got right to work on the important task of destroying it. I can't believe how strong her teeth are! Seems that Nylabones are the only thing that can withstand her jaw. I don't know how long the new chew toy will last, but she is *really* enjoying it.
And that was pretty much our day. Because it's Christmas, we went on several very long walks and I took Dusty to the park. And she got a few carrots with her dinner.
Merry Christmas!
