Dusty made two important discoveries today.
The first is 'crumbs.' I know this may sound unbelievable, but Dusty really hasn't been too into crumbs. I think this is partly due to the fact that I'm hyper-neat and I sweep the floors every day. There are not too many crumbs to find, normally.
But today, I was baking and it was messy. I'm not sure when the 'lightbulb' moment came, but soon Dusty was underfoot, patrolling the kitchen for crumbs. She's learned that if I'm eating a cookie, there's a good chance there will be crumbs (she monitors the area under my desk very carefully).
The second big discovery was television. Normally, when I'm watching T.V., Dusty sleeps. Tonight, as I was watching 'Law and Order,' I noticed that her ears were pricked and she was watching the screen in rapt attention. Apparently, she'd never before noticed that there was something going on in that little box. I think I may have awakened her interest the other night when we watched 'Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye.' There's a dog on that show and he barked a few times.
Anyways, it's great to have someone to watch T.V. with!
