On the 'movie set'
3:30 p.m.
There's lots of excitement in our apartment building this week. Our lobby has been transformed into a 1970s senior's residence called 'River Heights' in Minneapolis. There's fake snow out front, a blue US mail box and lots of really cheesy hook rugs on the wall.
All of this because there's a movie crew here, filming 'Aurora Borealis,' a feature film starring Donald Sutherland and Juliette Lewis. Since the action is happening in our lobby, or access to the elevators has been effected. Although we occasionally have to wait for sound-checks and whatnot, it's been worth it just to see the whole filming process.
The people who are working on the film have all been really nice. Dusty has befriended the crew and sometimes, when I'm taking her out for a walk, someone who I don't recall ever seeing before will say, "Well, Hello there Dusty!" I think she's enjoying the attention.
