Thanksgiving in High Park

A game of 'chase': Dusty is pursued by Cuan and Chinook.

9:30 a.m.
We had a fabulous time at High Park yesterday! We met up with E and her dogs and headed over in the car.

It's been a long time since we were there. With the move, and my classes, we haven't had a lot of time to go. When Dusty saw dog hill, she actually started to *whimper*, she was so excited!

The park is beautiful this time of year. Some of the leaves are changing and it's really spectacular (and will be even more so towards the end of the month). Dusty ran around, got into burr patches, rolled in the dust and smelly stuff, ate sticks, chased other dogs, smelled many bums and basically immersed herself in all the pure good doggieness possible.

When we went back to the car, she jumped into my lap, leaned against my chest and gently licked the bottom of my chin as if to say "yes, that was fun! thank-you so much for bringing me here!"

It wasn't as much fun when we got home, though. Dusty was dirty, smelly and covered with burrs, grass and dead leaves. First, I went over her thoroughly with a comb out on the balcony, then she got a bath. Dusty was totally in denial about that bath: she ignored me when I called her and instead, walked non-chalantly to her basket and layed down for a nap!

Here are a few more photos from our day:
