Dusty's Dreads

Somebody got a bath!

9:30 p.m.
I should have known something was up when I caught Dusty humming Grateful Dead tunes out on the balcony. She's suddenly keen on tie-die. She been investigating doggie communes. She wants to go to another 'Peace Protest'...and she's developed dread locks.

If you're thinking I'm neglecting this dog, I have only one thing to say: "Guilty as charged." I haven't been brushing and combing her every day like I used to.

Today, I sat down to comb out her leg furnishings and received an unpleasant surprise, she was covered with dreads, from leg to paw. *sigh* It required an hour of coaxing, pulling hair mats apart with my fingers and careful combing to restore her fur to non-hippie status. She HATED it.

So I've learned my lesson. From now on, no doggie dread locks. She's going to get brushed daily.
