8:00 p.m.
Wow! We spent a lot of time in the park today. With the evenings growing colder, I know the nice days are numbered (and they've been *really* nice days lately). Tonight, I opted to stay at the park until Dusty was literally exhausted.
While we were there, we witnessed a strange altercation between two dog owners. There is this bad tempered man who owns a very bad-tempered dog. I tend to stay away from the two of them (out of fear, mostly). Apparently there was a dog fight earlier in the evening and this man came back to the park to pick a fight with the other owner.
Frankly, I have no doubt whose dog started the fight (though that hardly matters). No-one was hurt, though the Bad Tempered Man had a scratch on his left arm. The other dog owner was trying to speak calmly to him, but he was being shouted down. The Bad Tempered Man then looked out at the group gathered and shouted "I know what kind of people you all are!" (presumably, bad people) before he stomped off into the sunset.
We all shook our heads sadly. Another dog to avoid. Another person to avoid. I guess I could be depressed about how unfortunate this is, but actually, I think it's a miracle that this type of thing happens so rarely. Our dog park group is fairly eclectic and we still manage to get along most of the time. I think I'll hold that thought...
