This is sort of a repeat, but too cute not to share.
8:00 p.m.
Dusty had a rough day. She's been going through a naughty spell lately where she eats everything she can find on the sidewalk. Maybe she knows that the sidewalk will soon be covered with snow and all the good stuff will be frozen, so she taking advantage of the good weather while it lasts.
Anyways, after telling her 'Off!' for the umpteenth time this morning, I finally lost it and yelled at her, swatted her on the rump and told her in no uncertain terms that she was a BAD DOG. So much for positive dog training. I think she was shocked - she looked at me and looked at her bum as if to say "What was THAT?"
I got a hold of myself and apologised to her, but I still felt bad about it. In hopes of salvaging the day, we went to the small dog park at 10:30. A bunch of small dog people have been regularly meeting up there mid-morning on weekdays. It's the student and unemployed crowd.
It would have been really fun if it wasn't so muddy out there. The ground melted. To be honest, I preferred it frozen. Also, there's a new puppy, who HUGE. And he isn't very well-behaved. We said our goodbyes when he came to the park.
And that was it for fun dog-time. Dusty had some crate time, then some more crate time, then we played in our 'yard' in front of the building. She loves it out there. It's way bigger than our old yard and she runs around like a wild thing.
I'm working tomorrow, and I won't be close enough to come home for lunch. Dusty will be alone all day. It will be interesting to see how that goes for her.
