Two dogs on a log.
10:00 p.m.
We went to High Park in the afternoon and Dusty had a wonderful time. The park was even more beautiful this week than it was last - the leaves are very colourful and the air was cool and crisp
Dusty is learning how to 'run with a pack.' With the addition of Cuan, the whole composition of our High Park outings has changed - there are now three and apparently, three is a pack. Chinook is the acknowledged leader of our little group. Dusty, who is usually alpha amongst the small dogs in her favourite park, grovels on the ground at his feet. It won't be long before Cuan is dominant over her too - in fact, I think that heirarchy is on the verge of changing.
When Chinook runs into the woods, he's followed by Cuan and Dusty. It's fun to watch them take off after a squirrel or who-knows-what and disappear into the trees. Dusty usually comes back first, to check up on me, followed by Cuan and eventually, Chinook. Chinook has become very independent and will explore the woods alone if the other two don't join him.
As usual, Dusty was covered with mud and burrs by the time we got home. She got a quick bath and a nap. Later on, I combed out the tangles. It's lots of work, but it's totally worth it. She just loves the park - I can see it on her face when we're there.
