With the wind in her beard, Dusty takes to the road!
8:45 p.m.
One of Dusty's favourite simple pleasures is the rare ride she gets in an automobile. At the door, she waits patiently while I settle myself and all I have to say is 'up' to launch an enthusiastic leap into my lap.
An open window is a must. She really doesn't hang her head out the window so much as her nose. She likes to rest her chin right on the door, better to close her eyes and savour the symphony of smells that rush past - nless there are pedestrians or cyclists to gawk at, then she's at full attention.
The same type of fun is available on the streetcar - getting a window seat is always a special treat. Today on the streetcar, we met a nice polish lady. She didn't speak English, but I didn't need an understanding of polish to know that she liked my dog, thought she was beautiful and wanted to pat Dusty's head.
