A preview of Dusty's costume for Friday...

Now that it's dark at night, I've had trouble spotting Dusty in the dog park. I had thought of buying a glow-collar from the pet store, but yesterday, as I was thinking about the problem I came up with a simple solution.
A bike light! I have one of those little red bike lights and it actually has a *clip* on it. It clips right on her collar. As an experiment, I clipped it on her collar before we left for the park.
It worked pretty well - it was bright enough, that's for sure. The only problem is that the weight of the light caused it to slide down her collar under her chin. She looked like one of those Hip Hop cars with the neon lighting underneath - she left a glow on the ground wherever she walked. All she needed was the hip hop music booming through a souped up bass speaker and she would have been set: Dusty in the Hood.
Tomorrow, I'm going to try clipping the light to the top of a harness. Then she'll resemble a little police car (and be easier to spot) - a *totally* different look, I must admit! ;-)
